After 28 years as a veterinarian business owner and eight years (2013-2021) serving in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Florida’s 3rd District, Dr. Ted Yoho has launched Capitol Concepts Consulting, LLC.

Prior to being elected to Congress, Dr. Yoho was a practicing large animal veterinarian and business owner, serving North Central Florida for over 30 years.  During his practice tenure, he successfully owned and operated five different veterinary clinics and accumulated over 50 years experience in the agriculture industry.  He and his wife, Carolyn, have been married for 46 years.  Together, they have raised three great children and are currently enjoying their first grandchild.

Yoho began his congressional tenure in 2013, after pulling a major upset in the 2012 Republican primary and unseating a long-term incumbent who had held office since 1988.  As a member of both the Foreign Affairs and Agriculture Committees as well as Chairman and Ranking Member of the Asia-Pacific and Non-Proliferation Subcommittee, Congressman Yoho gained a unique and particular insight into geo-politics around the world.

A staunch believer in term limits and a true man of his word, Yoho honored his term-limit pledge and did not seek re-election after completing his 8th year in Congress.

Congressman Yoho’s Agriculture Committee assignments were the full committee, bio-tech and nutrition. He was awarded the Golden Plow Award in 2017 from the American Farm Bureau Federation for the strong recognition and contributions to U.S. Agriculture. This is their highest form of recognition to members of Congress from the Federation.

These experiences have allowed him to understand the importance of having good, strong government-to-government relationships as well as business-to-government relationships. These relationships are essential in developing robust and fair trade agreements among entities and lead to strong economic growth. In addition, it helps create direct foreign investments reciprocally between nations.

The extensive travel involved with committee delegation trips - both domestically and internationally - along with expert witnesses’ statements during committee hearings enabled Congressman Yoho to have a global perspective and broad-based relationships with international leaders involving many different issues. These issues include government-to-government relations, foreign and trade policies between countries and businesses along with agriculture, national security, military concerns and areas of public health especially during the COVID pandemic.
